In order to effectively lead Marines it is critical to recognize strengths and weaknesses in oneself and in those you will mentor and to make a plan to grow those traits which you find yourself deficient in. Leading Marines effectively means always being mission-ready, sharpening your abilities and setting an example for your fellow Marines.

This article discusses the importance of leadership to the modern Corps. Please read the article and begin to think about your own strengths and weaknesses. What do you hope to bring to the Corps? How can you grow to become a better Marine Corps Officer Candidate? How can you create a plan for growth?

Use this link to access the discussion board. In this discussion each Candidate will critically analyze their leadership skills. In two paragraphs the Candidate will discuss which traits they perform well and which they need to work on. You will post at least 3 strengths and 3 weakness. In a third paragraph you will discuss two traits and provide a). the definition, b). the significance and c). an example of each. Within the week respond to 2 other Candidates.

The following link will direct you to a graded exam. This exam is intended to asses you knowledge of the Marine Corps 14 Leadership Traits. When you have completed the test screenshot your result and turn in the resulting image to Google Classroom using the links below.

Strengths and Weaknesses Culminating Task
Your culminating project will be to create a video on your strengths and weaknesses in regards to the Marine Corps 14 Leadership Traits. You will be required to a). Identify a Leadership Trait that is your greatest strength and its significance to the Marine Corps 2). Discuss an example of a time you have utilized this trait in your civilian life and how you plan to use it in the future at OCS an beyond 3). Discuss 3 traits which you feel they need to develop and 4.) Respond to and interact with 2 peer videos.
Additionally you will be required to upload this link to Google Classroom as well as a Word Document or PDF plan for improvement.
You will create a video using a recording software, either a phone or webcam. You will be required to upload this video to YouTube and present the link via the discussion board.
