What Does It Mean to Lead Marines?

The Marine Corps 14 Leadership Traits describe a mindset that enables successful Marines Corps Officers to lead an elite team of warriors. These leadership traits encompass the Espirit de corps that define the United States Marine Corps and help to build effective and cohesive units to fight our nation's toughest battles in any climb or place.

Objectives:

The learning objectives for the course are as follows:

Terminal Learning Objective (TLO): Upon completion of this training, Marine Corps Officer Candidates will be able to identify the fourteen leadership traits and understand how to utilize them in a professional setting in order to further succeed at Marine Corps Officer Candidate School and as a Marine in the area of leadership.

Enabling Learning Objectives (ELO's):

Upon completion of this course, Marine Corps Officer Candidates will be able to recite the definition, significance and an example of each of the fourteen Marine Corps leadership traits.
Upon completion of this course, Marine Corps Officer Candidates will be able to quickly identify strengths and weaknesses regarding these fourteen leadership traits in themselves and others.
Upon completion of this course, Marine Corps Officer Candidates will be able to compose 300-word essays on the topic of the fourteen leadership traits quickly and effectively.
Upon completion of this course, Marine Corps Officer Candidates will understand how to apply a growth mindset to personal growth and development in the area of leadership.
Upon completion of this course Marine Corps Officer Candidate will be able to create an action-plan for personal improvement.
